Small-time artist Marc-Uwe’s (Dimitrij Schaad) life gets turned upside down when a communist kangaroo turns up at the door of his Berlin flat. In this raucous German comedy charged with political commentary, Marc-Uwe and the Kangaroo team up to challenge the dark forces of gentrification.
Our artists created a jaw-dropping total of 393 kangaroo shots and 74 environmental VFX shots for this project. The scope of our work included full creative development of The Kangaroo, planning and supervision on-set, and all practical implementation in post-production.
We also took on the mammoth task of crafting complex 3D set extensions of a huge construction site wasteland in the middle of Berlin, plus plenty of matte paintings and retouching.
Our hard work paid off in April 2020 when the German Film Academy selected TRIXTER as the first-ever recipient of a LOLA award in the Best Visual Effects and Animation category. We were deeply honored to accept such accolades and proud to contribute to the German entertainment industry!
