Prince T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) of Wakanda returns home to ascend to the throne. He soon learns that the warring factions of his beloved country challenge not only his path to becoming King, but the very fate of Wakanda itself. T’Challa must become the Black Panther to protect his people and stand up against the foes who seek to destroy them.
It took nearly a year of work for our 70+ artists to craft the 205 shots featured in the final cut. Having previously worked on the T’Challa’s suit for Captain America: Civil War, we were able to pick up where we’d left off and give it a new lease on life.
We also had some good-natured fun matching incredibly detailed work on the Jet and cracking the animation for fight sequences. “Our Animation Lead Claudius Urban happened to have some martial arts background, so he acted out some of the moves and did a great job adding more punch here and there.” — Michael Wortmann for Art of VFX
